1941 - Nazi's slaughter about 34,000 Jews of Kiev
1954 - Typhoon hits Japan - 5 ferryboats sink killing about 1,600
2000 - Anti-globalization protests in Prague (some 20,000 protesters) turned violent during the IMF and World Bank summits.
2007- Saffaron Revolution - The Burmese military regime launched a brutal crackdown, shooting and beating the monks and protesters into submission.
